Out of Surgery

Jim is finally out of surgery (it took a few hours longer than expected). I just spoke to the surgeon and it went well. They had to plate his mandible and his maxillary sinuses, they wired his jaw shut (and it will stay wired for 2-4 weeks), stitched up his jaw, upper lip, nose, and forehead, and re-aligned his nasal septum. He is in recovery now and I am just waiting for them to tell me I can see him. Thanks for your prayers.

Oh, Molly. We were shocked when we got your e-mail about this. I know that these are not the memories you wanted of your time in DC. I'm so sorry that this happened and so far from home. Hang in there. I know that it takes a toll on everyone. We are thinking of Jim, you, and Jack and praying for Jim's continued successful recovery.

Molly, I just logged on "for a minute b4 going to bed." Twenty minutes later I've read up on Jim's accident and your family's life back to Jack's birthday! I'm SO sorry to read about Jim's accident and surgery. Sounds very painful!! I will certainly keep you 3 in my prayers. So glad no brain, spine or vision damage! (Shades of John Nahm!) How long will Jim have to stay in the hospital?
