It's Been a Good Day

Patrick has a bit of difficulty getting back to sleep after feeding in the night. So, after his early morning feeding Jim took Patrick downstairs with him while he got ready for work. I got to sleep longer! When I came down, I saw this cute little peanut in the swing:
What a great way to wake up!
Jack is under the impression that if you like 2 things, then they must taste good together. Case in point, breakfast:
Scrambled eggs and Fruit Loops. Yuck!
Jack was playing with the camera today and so we decided to take some pictures. He likes to look at the pictures after I take them.

Lake Shelbyville

Last Saturday we rented a cabin near Lake Shelbyville to celebrate Jim's birthday (it was Sunday). These two pictures are the only ones we have with the cabin in them. It was a spacious, 3 bedroom cabin. It was more room than we needed, but very nice. Shortly after arriving, we went on a hike on a trail out the back door of our cabin.
Patrick enjoyed the ride on Daddy's chest.

Jack liked to throw things (rocks, big seed-things from the trees, etc.) into the lake next to our cabin.
Jim built a campfire that night and we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. Yum!
Jack had a great time.
Patrick seemed to enjoy himself, too.
After Jack went to bed, we bundled Patrick up and sat by the fire for a while. Jim brought his guitar and played some music. It was nice and very relaxing.
On Sunday morning, Jim woke up early to play a few holes of golf. Later we went to Lake Shelbyville for a short hike. The weather was amazing. We couldn't believe it was November.
Jack loved the sound he made as he walked through the leaves.
When we made it to the lake, we threw lots of rocks in it.
It's still hard to believe we are a family of FOUR! It's pretty awesome!

Halloween

We had a nice Halloween this year. Jack was Superman (as you've seen in a few other posts). Patrick was our cute little pumpkin (even his socks were pumpkins). It was a bit cold, so he wore his Ireland sweater too.
Both sets of grandparents came over for chili and trick-or-treating. I stayed home with Patrick to pass out candy while Jack went trick-or-treating with Jim and all his grandparents. Jack loved it!

I read books to Jack and Patrick in Jack's toddler bed the other day. Patrick is apparently whispering sweet nothings into Jack's ear here.
My sweet, sweet boys.

All of my sweet, sweet boys (snuggling with Daddy when he comes home from work is lots of fun).
The weather has been pretty nice this week. Jack and I have been able to play outside a lot while Patrick sleeps. Today we had a picnic lunch outside.
