Museum of Science and Industry Day 2

We went back to the Museum of Science and Industry again today. Papa got in town last night and came with us.This time Nana and Papa were engineers, with a little Jack in front.
We are standing in front of a huge submarine. You can only see part of it in this picture.
Jack was representing in his Cardinals shirt.

Look at the big John Deere tractor Jack drove.

We took a tour through a coal mine.
Nana's Aunt Rosemary came over for dinner.
Uncle David gave me kisses goodnight.

Uncle David grilled steaks on the roof.
Dinner was delicious!

We Took a Train to Chicago

On Wednesday, Jack, Nana, and I took the train to Chicago. Jack did well on the train ride. Here he is sitting on Nana's tray table. He was able to fall asleep in his car seat for a good part of the ride.Eating lunch at Uncle David and Aunt Melanie's cool apartment:
On Thursday Nana and I took Jack to the Museum of Science and Industry. Jack enjoyed playing in the water. They had little raincoats for the kids to wear so they didn't get wet!

If you look closely, you can see that Jack is pouring water on himself.Nana shows him how to pour it into the water toys.

Tunnels are always fun. Climbing through a tunnel while carrying a ball is even more fun!
Look at all these balls in the water! Jack is in heaven!
We saw some newly hatched chicks.

Jack and Mommy are train engineers.
Jack is steering a submarine.
There is a periscope in the submarine exhibit. When you look into it, you can see Chicago, outside the museum. It was pretty cool. Here is Jack this morning hanging out in his guitar pajamas. We miss Daddy!!!!

Zoo and Haircuts

This morning we met Reilly and Tim at the zoo. We had fun on the carousel (well, Tim did but it doesn't look like Jack and Reilly were having a lot of fun at this moment). Jack was almost eaten by a hippo at the Children's Zoo!
Daddy and Jack climbed the big stairs to the top of the tunnel slide. Jack wants to walk up stairs these days. No more crawling up stairs!
In the afternoon, Mommy cut both Jack and Daddy's hair. Here they show off their new 'dos.

Outdoor Fun

It was a beautiful weekend and we were able to spend some time outside. On Saturday, Jack wanted to water the stuff growing between our house and our neighbor's house. He loves the hose.
Sunday morning Jack and I played with his trike. After riding in front of our house for a while, we decided to go all the way around the block. About halfway around, Jack got off and decided it would be more fun to push the trike himself. I tried getting on and having him push me, but apparently I am too heavy.

Hanging with friends and family

We went to Andrew's first birthday party a little over a week ago. There were lots of people and he got lots of cool toys. Jack enjoyed the cake, but did not like the ice cream. I think it was too cold for him. Oh well, more for Mom and Dad!
On Friday, we went to Cooperella with Colleen & Caeleigh, Elizabeth & Andrew, and Nancy & Margo. It is probably one of few places where 4 moms can have lunch with 4 toddlers, and not having everyone staring.

Drew and Jack played with the kitchen.
Caeleigh rode the rocking horse.
Margo played with the other kitchen.
Caeleigh loved going down the slide on the big castle. On Saturday we went to watch my cousin, Michael, play rugby. His team came all the way from Houston to play in the 2008 Western Championship. They won the game we watched, and were scheduled to play in the championship game on Sunday. We weren't able to go Sunday, and I haven't heard the outcome.

Sunday evening (Mother's Day) we had dinner at Oscars with Nana and Papa. The food was delicious, as always. Jack and Jim gave me a silver heart-shaped locket with a tiny picture of Jack inside.
