December 2017

In early December, I accompanied Jack's Scout group. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting.

We had an unseasonably warm day, so we took a family bike ride.

Hanging out with Lewis and Clark:
We happened upon a Christmas festival.
Maggie and I had a coffee date at a friend's house.  She got to wear a Santa hat.
Each year I take the kids to see Santa at the train station.  We took a quick picture at home first.  Maggie is wearing a Christmas skirt made by Nana.

I had to go to Union Station to pick up a race packet for a 15K I was going to run.  It was decorated for Christmas and looked pretty cool.
My little cookie elves!
Maggie loves the bike she got from Caeleigh!
Rory spent the night with us and went to a Breakfast with Santa with us.  The weather was nice, so we played outside when we got home.
A little snow and cold weather doesn't keep this girl off her bike.

Jim had to work Christmas morning.  The kids were so good about waiting until Dad got home to open presents.  They didn't open presents from Santa until 2:00 or so in the afternoon.  We went to Uncle Paul and Aunt Margaret's around noon for brunch and they were able to open their first gifts of the day then.

This is the face of a girl who has so patiently been waiting all day to open her presents and her mom just asked her to smile for the camera before she starts.

A Christmas break trip to the bowling alley.
One of our favorite events, the Countdown to Noon party my friend Kathleen throws every year.

We spent time with friends for NYE.  The kids ate early and then played in the basement while the adults had a fabulous meal!

November 2017

This is what November 2017 looked like for us.

Fun times in the backyard:
Stories before bed:
A unique opportunity to "play" with some construction equipment:

We tried a new venue for our annual glamping trip.  This year we went to Echo Bluffs State Park. It was fun!

A little football by the bluffs.

The water was cold, but that didn't stop Jack from rolling up his pants and walking across the rocks.
A girls' hike on Saturday:

The fun playground:

 Matching pjs!!!

We hosted Thanksgiving brunch.  It was gorgeous outside, so we were able to enjoy live music on the patio.

What's Thanksgiving without football?

After playing outside, Maggie needed an outfit change before we went to Nana and Papa's for Thanksgiving dinner!
Cute outfit #2:
It's always good to see these Wisconsonites!
