Fun Before Bed

The kids were in such a good mood before bed one night recently that I grabbed the camera to take some pictures.  Patrick was showing off his tongue again!
I think Patrick's favorite person in the whole wide world is his older brother.

Jack decided to listen to Patrick's heart.  Everything sounded good!

Visiting Amy

Jack, Patrick, and I went to central Illinois to visit my college roommate, Amy, last week.

Jack had a lot of fun hanging out with her son, Bo, who is one month older than he is.
The weather was perfect and we were able to spend a lot of time outside in their backyard.
We went to the playground at Abe's (Bo's older brother) school.
Unfortunately this is the only picture of Aurelia, Amy's new baby, that I took during our visit.  She was sleeping in the front carrier.
Patrick had fun, too.  He loves to stick out his tongue.
Everyone loved the water table!
Bo and Jack cracked each other up at snack time.

Softball

Jim plays in two different softball leagues on Sundays.  I took Jack and Patrick to one of his games two weeks ago.  Here are some pictures of Jim in action!
He played shortstop for most of the game.
It's a little hard to see because of the fence I was behind, but I was able to capture this play on "film."
Here's another one:

You might be wondering, "What did Jack and Patrick do during the game?"
Well...Jack played with dirt.
Patrick was passed around and just did his part by looking cute.
Jim's team won, by the way.

A Day at the Park

We have had really nice weather lately.  Last week we met some friends at the park for a picnic and fun on the playground.
Sean and Caeleigh played with us!
Anna brought baby Quint.
Jack and Caeleigh chased each other around.  They are starting to get to the age where they play with each other as opposed to next to each other.
Patrick tried to stay out of the sun.

Solid Foods

We started Patrick on solid foods last week. Well, we fed him Gerber rice cereal, which is not too solid.  He had not been too fond of it until yesterday.  I've just been feeding him once a day, but yesterday and today he seemed to like it and want more.  Next thing you know he'll be eating steak and potatoes!

Easter

I am pretty far behind in updating the blog, so hopefully I will get caught up soon.

The night before Easter we dyed Easter eggs.  Jack liked to put one egg in every color.
Patrick enjoyed watching with Daddy.
After we put the kids to bed, I made some egg dishes for brunch the next day.  This was my favorite (before I baked it the next morning).  It was a southwest egg strudel.  Yum!
After church, we looked for the Easter eggs that the Easter Bunny hid in our yard.

Patrick got some, too!
Can you find the egg in this picture?
After the Easter egg hunt, I thought I might take pictures of the boys in their matching Easter outfits (thanks, Nana), but this is the look Patrick gave me:
Later, we had lots of family over for Easter brunch.  Jim and his brother played a little guitar.
Michael and Kathleen joined us.
Jack and Patrick's cousins, Mimi, Katie, and Bridget came!
Aunt Sue enjoyed holding Patrick.
Patrick liked Rachel and her long hair!
Mark was able to come in from Georgetown for the weekend.
Uncle Matt taught Jack how to play tennis.  :)
Jack thought it would be fun to combine tennis and sliding.
Overall it was a spectacular day.  The weather was beautiful, we had good food, and great people.  We are truly blessed!
