Birthday Celebrations

This past year has flown by so quickly!  On Sunday we had family over for Patrick's birthday party. The weather was gorgeous, so we were able to open presents and eat cake and ice cream outside.

Patrick needs quite a bit of help opening gifts.

Uncle David and Aunt Melanie sent this personalized apron and tools that go in it all the way from Australia!
We sang "Happy Birthday" and then Jack helped him blow out the candle.

Patrick's first taste of cake. Yum!
He definitely likes it!
All of the Kelly grandchildren were in attendance!  What a good looking group!
Thursday was Patrick's actual birthday.  To celebrate, we went to a playground after picking Jack up from preschool.

Patrick got to open more presents after dinner.
Of course, there was more cake, too!

Jambeque

JAM
 BEQUE
On Saturday, Jim and his buddy Jeff hosted what will hopefully be the first of many Jambeques.  They set up a "stage" on Jeff's patio and people brought their instruments and music and got up to "Jam."  Bill fired up the grill and cooked burgers, brats, and salsicce.  The weather was perfect.  It was an amazing day, and I think everyone had a great time!  I have lots of pictures and had a hard time picking which ones to post.
Jim's sister, Karen, drove down from Milwaukee for the event.
My Aunt Kathy and her friend, Don, sang a few songs.
Jeff and his brother, Bill, jammed.
Jeff, Jim, and Bill were in a band in high school.  They had a mini reunion for a couple songs.

Jim played the drums for a couple songs, too.  Did you notice his shirt?

There were lots of kids who enjoyed the performance.  Here are some of them:

These guys were ready to take over the stage!

Karen and Colin enjoyed the show.

 Idania was an amazing hostess.
Matt and Nancy danced with baby Molly.

She's holding a "lighter."

The party was a huge success!  Here is a video of Jim, Paul, and Jeff performing Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes.  You may want to pause the blog music at the top of the right side of this page before playing the video.
