Jack's First Communion

In May, Jack made is First Holy Communion.  A few days before the big event, they celebrated May Crowning at school.  Two second graders from each class were selected to bring flowers to Mary.  They had to wear their First Communion outfits.  Jack was excited to be chosen.

He looked so handsome!

He took his job very seriously, and was thrilled to do it!
This is the same church where Jim and I were married 10 years ago, and my parents were married 40 years ago.

On the morning of his First Communion, Jack wore the same outfit, with an addition of a boutineer from Nana and Papa.

Jim and I got to be with him as he received his First Holy Communion.
Because there are so many second graders in the parish, they have two different ceremonies.  Here is the morning group (with Jack in the middle):

Jack with his teacher:
We invited people back to our home for lunch and celebrating afteward.
We are so proud of Jack!
Jack with his cake:

Maggie enjoyed every bite of the cake!

Charlie did too!
I made some cookies for the guests to take with them.
