Camping

We went camping at Taum Sauk Mountain last weekend.  It was Patrick's first camping experience, and I would say it was fairly successful.  He woke up a number of times in the night, so neither Jim nor I got much sleep, but Jack was able to sleep right through it.
Hanging out in the tent:
The weather was great.  It was cool in the evening, but not too cold.
Patrick is ready for dinner:
"Oh Daddy!  You are so funny!"
By the time we finished dinner, it was dark.  We roasted some marshmallows and put the kids to bed.  Then, Jim and I enjoyed some wine in front of the campfire and admired the star-filled sky.
In the morning, Jim and Jack serenaded us with their harmonicas.
We put Patrick in a hiking backpack and started on a 3 mile hike.
About a quarter mile into the hike we turned around because Patrick was uncomfortable and tired, and Jack wasn't too excited either.
We then made a short trek to the highest point in Missouri - 1772.68 feet.
As the boys sat on the marker, they both picked up stuff on the ground.
Jack played with the rocks...
...Patrick ate the leaves.
