When our children are 12 years old, they get to go on a trip with a parent. Charlie chose Wisconsin Dells with Jim. On their drive, they stopped to eat at the World's Largest Culver's!
Maggie and I took her friends out to celebrate their birthday.
We thought an experience would be the best gift.Everyone had fun at the indoor mini golf course. We each got at least one hole-in-one.
The girls came back to our house and we celebrated with cookie cake. I made a small cookie cake for Jack since he was leaving for Greece the next day.
Two of Jack's grade school classmates were on the Greece trip with him.
With Jack in Greece and Patrick at summer school, I got to spend a lot of time with Charlie and Maggie. We joined Ethan and Beth for a hike one day.
We got beignets one morning after Maggie's swim practice.
I think some of the powdered sugar even made it in Charlie's mouth.
We visited Grandma and saw the beautiful flowers on her balcony.
We visited the Science Center for the first time in a long time. We bought a membership, so hopefully we will return frequently.
After 9 years of playing together, this group had their final season of CYC baseball.
I'm sure this was a really productive mound visit.
Maggie took after her older brother and pitched for her softball team.
Jim and Patrick played in the father-son golf tournament at SLUH.
We went to the Science Center to see an Omnimax show.
A visit from Nana and Papa!
Maggie and some neighbors made lemon blueberry cupcakes from scratch.
Yum!
I took Maggie and a friend to the Science Center.
These girls see each other once or twice a year, but always pick up right where they left off.
One morning, we got donuts and went to the sculpture park.
We joined many of my family members for a campout, and Croquetapalooza, at Logger's Lake.
Maggie played her ukulele at the campfire.
We hiked along the lake. There were a lot of bugs so some of us wore bug nets on our heads.
Maggie went for one last dip in the lake before we left.
Thanks, Uncle Steve, for a great weekend!
On our way home, we stopped at Dillard Mill. It was scenic (and hot).
My running group celebrated some birthdays at an outdoor concert at the Botanical Gardens.
My running group used to host a ladies running party. Another group of ladies hosted it this year and we were more than happy to just attend.
My friend gave us 4 tickets to a Cardinals game, so Jim took the younger three.
They had a great time!
I took the kids (and a neighbor who took this picture for me) on a hike. You can see Jack was thrilled.Once we started the hike, everyone had fun.
