In early August, I took some senior pictures of Jack.
Karen came to town and we got to hang out at Grandma's.
Jim and I went to the Jason Isbell concert and I ran into Megan who I used to coach with.I saw many more former coworkers the next day at a celebration of life for my good friend and former department chair Elaine.
It was good to see Sue, who came in from Wisconsin.
We had a family ping pong tournament. I won!
I took Maggie to her first concert. Several other girls and their moms went to dinner and then to the P!nk concert.
While we were at P!nk, Jim and Jack saw The Band Feel at Union Station.
Sheryl Crow opened for P!nk. I hadn't explained to Maggie that we would get to see more than just P!nk. I think she would have just preferred P!nk.
It was pretty awesome to experience the show with Maggie!
That Sunday was the ice cream social at school. Charlie and Maggie brought their school supplies to their classrooms and met their teachers.
Since I had been the chess coach, I got to say a few words about Patrick before his banner was unveiled in the gym.

First day of 5th grade for Maggie! When she grows up she wants to be a chef.
First day of 7th grade for Charlie. When he grows up, he wants to be an astronaut.
The next day was the first day of high school It was Patrick's first day of 9th grade. When he grows up, he wants to be an engineer.
Jack's last first day of school at home. On the first day of 12th grade, he wants to be a computer engineer.
These two will have one year of high school together.
I am thrilled to get to be there with these two! After 17 years, I went back to the high school classroom!

Charlie won Cardinals tickets for summer reading and took a couple friends (and Jim) to a game.These seniors are ready for their final Back to School Mixer!
We had fun with karaoke at the 7th grade parent party.
Family Fun Day was a little later this year. We went rock climbing! Here are Maggie and Patrick.You can see Jim at the very top.

Patrick won tickets to a City2 game and took Jim.
At the end of August, Jim went to Texas for the ND vs. Texas A&M game. It was also a much-delayed bachelor party for his friend Steve.
Someone tried to steal Jim's yellow jacket, but he was able to thwart the thief.
While Jim was away, I took the kids to dinner to use some more coupons earned through summer reading.

Everyone had a great time and the Irish won!
While Jim had fun watching the game in person, we had fun watching at home with friends.
