March 2022, part 2: Florida

We drove to Florida for spring break this year. We were supposed to go in 2020, but Covid put an end to those plans. We were able to do some of the things we planned in 2020, but unfortunately the MLB lockout prevented us from seeing a spring training game. Other than that, we had a fabulous week.
We rented a house in Cocoa Beach.
We explored Sebastian Inlet State Park.
A little hike in the state park:
On Pi Day, Jim and I went for a morning run and then sipped coffee in my pi mugs by the pool.
We walked to the nearby beach.
Jim went to his friend Dave's house to play guitar and I took the kids to play mini golf. I got a hole-in-one!
Then, Patrick got a hole-in-one!
Then, Charlie got a hole-in-one!
And then, Patrick got yet another hole-in-one!
Maggie and I wore some of my pi shirts to celebrate the holiday.
We went over to Dave and Leslie's house where the kids played a little guitar before we went out for dinner.
We spent a day at the Kennedy Space Center.
Jim had taken Jack and Charlie a few years ago (I had stayed back with Maggie and Patrick, who wasn't feeling well). We were all excited to go this time.

We were able to look inside the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
It was fun to try the interactive exhibits.

The pool was not heated, so we didn't spend much time in it. There was a bit of football near it.

Patrick mastered the football catch before splashing into the pool.
We went out to dinner at The Fat Snook with David and Leslie. They are so fun to dine with! They truly savor every bite and enjoy the whole experience.
We spent a little time at the Cocoa Beach Pier before heading to Orlando.

We spent two days at Universal Studios. We got passes for both parks so we could do all the Harry Potter stuff, along with everything else.

We had to find platform 9 3/4 to take the Hogwarts Express.
You can see this video of Jim and the kids walking through the wall at Platform 9 3/4.
I opted not to go on this Twirl and Hurl ride. Jim was a trooper and rode it with Patrick.
There were lots of fun rides.
We got our picture in front of Hogwarts Castle.
We saw some favorite Dr. Seuss characters.

We enjoyed some IHOP on our drive home.
A stop in Metropolis is not complete without a Superman picture.
